Immunisation & Travel Advice

Prevention of disease is a cornerstone of General Practice, with immunisation against preventable disease being integral to this. At Gilbert Collins Medical Practice, we provide all childhood vaccines under the Australian Immunisation Program as well as seasonal Influenza vaccination, adult Pneumonia and Shingle vaccinations, Tetanus boosters and a range of travel vaccines.

We recommend that all pregnant women (and close family members) have Influenza vaccination as well as a Pertussis (whooping cough) booster after 28weeks gestation.

For those travelling overseas, we advise a GP appointment with your full travel itinerary, if possible more than 4 weeks prior to departure. We will then create an individual immunisation schedule and advise about any other risks including malaria prevention and prescription of medication if needed.
